Meet Dr. Wesley Anderson Jr.

Dr. Anderson grew up in the Lake Smith Terrace neighborhood here in Virginia Beach, where he attended Hermitage and Thoroughgood elementary schools. As a boy, Dr. Anderson was very active in the Boy Scouts, establishing his core values of leadership and citizenship and rising through the ranks to earn his Eagle Scout in 1972. During high school, he attended Bayside High and was very active in numerous clubs and organizations, especially the Atlantic Ecology Club. In 1976, he graduated near the top of class. From 1976-1980, Dr. Anderson attended the University of Richmond, where he studied chemistry and business, earning his bachelor’s degree. Continuing his education at the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry in Richmond, Dr. Anderson graduated in 1986.

In 1988, after recovering from a horrific automobile accident two years earlier, Dr. Anderson returned to his old neighborhood and established his solo general and cosmetic dental practice. He moved to his present location in Thoroughgood Commons on Pleasure House Road in 1995.

Dr. Anderson married his wife, Barbara, in 2000.  He has grown children, Chris and Sommer, and son-in-law Rich, and three granddaughters Hannah, Casey, and Stella.

Dr. Anderson enjoys a yearly trek to Key West to relax and rejuvenate.
